Lucas Silicone Roof Coating #8400 - Low Solids - 5 Gallon Bucket

Product Code: L-8400-LS-5

Est Delivery between and

100% silicone based Lucas #8400 is a single part roof coating that creates a barrier that is resistant to natural weathering, is durable, breathable, watertight and weatherproof. Lucas #8400 can be applied over spray applied polyurethane foam, EPDM, PVC, aged acrylic coatings, concrete, asphalt BUR, granulated modified bitumen, and metal roofs. Asphalt BUR, granulated modified bitumen, smooth modified bitumen, and PVC roofs may require Lucas #4015 2 Part Epoxy Primer for increased adhesion and/or asphalt bleed through resistance. #8400 is not recommended for aluminum coated roofs. On single-ply roofs, #4015 must also be used to increase long term adhesion in areas that retain water.

Lucas #8400 is manufactured from durable inorganic silicone resins, reinforcing fillers, reflective pigments and silane adhesion promoters.

This product comes in a white color.

Application:

Mechanically mix prior to application. Surface to be coated must be dry and free of dirt or corrosion particles. Clean with Lucas #115 Universal Wash. EPDM roofs in particular require aggressive power washing and may need to be cleaned twice to remove all surface contamination. Thoroughly rinse the roof after cleaning to remove all detergent. Close all fresh air intakes before application to prevent solvent fumes from entering the building.

All seams, fasteners and penetrations should be sealed with silicone sealant. Apply a coat of #8400 at a rate of 1 gallon per 100 sq. ft. A second coat may be necessary. Allow coating to cure, typically 2 to 4 hours, then apply second coat at the rate of 1 gallon per 100 sq. ft. For best results, apply coating in a multi-directional fashion. Use #8400 as it comes from the container, no thinning is necessary with this product.
