Attic Ladders: Find the perfect attic ladder

Our range of attic ladders & attic stairs from Fakro spans four different types of ladder systems to help improve your home. You will find wooden, metal, fire rated, and scissor attic ladders created with those small attic spaces and safety in mind. Parts and accessories like handrails and extra steps for LSF and LST scissor attic ladders are also available.

Choose from insulated, three section attic ladders ranging from energy efficient to fire resistant. Both the LSF and LWF ladders are fire rated and safe to install to help block smoke passing between floors. The Fakro energy efficient range includes LWT ladders available in thermo wood or fire rated wood ladders. For higher ceilings and harder to reach attic spaces we recommend the LMP insulated metal attic ladder which offers higher reach.

To use your attic ladder as an insulation barrier to help with heat loss we recommend the LST scissor ladder which comes with a unique insulated hatch. To increase your safety and comfort try the LML Fakro attic ladders which are designed for ease of access and installation.

Got a broken or lost ladder handrail? Not a problem, we have your back! The LXH ladder handrail can be securely installed on either or both sides of your top ladder half and will securely work with most types of attic ladders. Otherwise feel free to screen and choose the right ladder profile to suit your attic. Be sure to check the load capacity before adding ladder to your cart.

Attic stairs

Welcome to the Attic Ladders category on Roofing4us, where functionality meets accessibility. Our diverse range of attic ladders from FAKRO is designed to cater to various practical needs, ensuring you find the perfect ladder to access your attic space safely and efficiently. Whether you're looking for enhanced safety features, specific material preferences, or unique space considerations, our collection has something for every homeowner.

Attic stairs are a set of stairs attached to the attic floor, making it easy for users to access the attic.  An attic stair normally consists of two sets: one that goes up and another that goes into the attic. Attic ladders include safety rails for stability and protection.

Attic staircases can be either foldable or retractable; folding attic steps only fold up when not in use, while folding attic stairs also fold down when you're going up or coming down so they don't get in your way. Retractable attic steps, on the other hand, roll under the attic floor when not in use so they won't get in your way either.

Safety and Convenience Accessories

LXH Ladder Handrail: A must-have accessory for added safety and convenience, the LXH Ladder Handrail offers extra stability and support when accessing your attic. Ideal for those who prioritise safety or need additional support.

Metal Attic Ladder

LMP & LML Insulated Metal Attic Ladder: This all-size, insulated metal attic ladders are designed for durability and thermal efficiency. Whether you choose the LMP or the more advanced LML model, you're investing in a sturdy, energy-saving solution for your home.

LMS Insulated Metal Attic Ladder: For those seeking metal durability with added insulation, the LMS offers a perfect balance, ensuring easy access to your attic without compromising on energy efficiency.

Wood Attic Ladder

LWT Thermo Wood Attic Ladder: The LWT model combines the natural aesthetics of wood with thermal insulation, ideal for homeowners looking for an energy-efficient attic access solution that blends seamlessly with their home décor.

LWF Fire-Rated Wood Attic Ladder: Offering both the charm of wood and the added safety of fire resistance, the LWF is designed for homes where safety regulations necessitate a fire-rated access solution.

LWP Insulated Wood Attic Ladder: The LWP provides the warmth and aesthetic appeal of wood with the practical benefits of insulation, making it a popular choice for those looking to improve their home's energy efficiency.

Aluminium attic ladders

Aluminium attic ladders are strong, lightweight, and rust resistant. Aluminium is also a good conductor of heat and cold, which means an aluminium attic ladder can easily dissipate excess rooftop heat in summer and trap it inside your attic during the winter.

Steel attic ladder

Steel is strong, durable, and corrosion resistant so attic ladders made out of steel can stand up to the elements. In addition, an attic ladder made out of steel is non-combustible so it does not pose a fire hazard along with being cheap to manufacture and maintain. A steel attic ladder can be purchased to fit most attic access, but if you're having trouble finding the right one it's possible to cut your ladder's rough opening and install an attic ladder, you might have to shave off a couple of inches here and there but overall it will keep the price down.

Scissor Attic Ladders

Extra Step for LSF/LST Fakro Scissor Attic Ladders: Tailor your attic ladder to your exact height requirements with an extra step for both LSF and LST models. These additions are perfect for homes with higher ceilings, ensuring a comfortable and safe ascent and descent.

LSF Fire Rated Scissor Attic Ladder: Prioritising safety without compromising on convenience, the LSF model is designed to provide fire resistance, making it an excellent choice for homes requiring adherence to stringent safety standards.

LST Insulated Scissor Attic Ladder: Combining insulation with the convenience of a scissor mechanism, the LST ladder is a go-to for energy-conscious homeowners looking to maintain a consistent temperature within their homes.

Choosing the Right Attic Ladder

When selecting an attic ladder, consider the following:

Space & Dimensions: Measure your attic's opening and ceiling height to ensure the ladder will fit your specific space.

Material Preference: Choose between wood and metal based on your aesthetic preference and the ladder's intended use.

Safety Features: Consider ladders with handrails or scissor mechanisms for added safety, especially if children or elderly individuals will use the ladder.

Insulation & Energy Efficiency: If energy conservation is a priority, opt for an insulated model to help maintain your home's temperature.
